Dr. Susannah Mileshina
Clinic Director and Director of Training at The Miles Clinic
Dr. Susannah Mileshina has made a name for herself in CPTSD treatment and the treatment of childhood trauma in her private practice. Susannah specializes in working with individuals who came from difficult families (e.g. who had an alcoholic parent or a parent with borderline personality disorder). Other areas of expertise include adult ADHD and mood disorders. She is a “therapist’s therapist,” who often treats other counselors and healing professionals in her own practice. In therapy, Susannah quickly dismantles patterns which perpetuate stress and unhappiness in close relationships, while treating the nervous system dysregulation responsible for anxiety, depressed mood, insomnia and other symptoms. Ultimately, Susannah’s work helps people show up in the world as they are uniquely meant to do.
In addition to her clinical practice and directing the internship program at The Miles Clinic, Susannah provides supervision to licensed clinicians in private practice, including LCSW’s, LMFT’s and LMHC’s. Susannah’s supervisory orientation is developmental and person-centered; that is she works with therapists to discover and leverage their own talents as healers, in their clinical work. She is particularly good at helping other practitioners discover the modalities they have a gift for. As a supervisor, Susannah draws upon her experience working with couples, families and individuals (with a wide range of treatment concerns and varying degrees of pathology) and her background in multicultural counseling to make sense of complex clinical situations.
